Origin

Popularized in the 1970s, closely tied to its adoption by the Rolling Stones during their 1972 US tour. Simpler, earlier tequila-and-orange-juice versions existed before that popularization moment.

Flavour Profile

Good as an easy, low-effort crowd-pleaser — sweet and juice-forward. Not for someone who wants a balanced or spirit-forward drink.

Glass & Garnish

Notes

Real grenadine (pomegranate-based) makes a real difference. Garnish with orange slice and cherry. Pairs well with brunch food.
