Aperol Spritz

Bitter-orange, bubbly, low-effort — the easiest cocktail on this entire site.
Every recipe on Sipped Right is tested at home before it's published — not just written.
Origin
Descended from 19th-century Italian wine-and-soda drinks, but the Aperol Spritz format specifically was heavily marketed by Aperol's own parent company from the 2000s onward — worth noting the commercial push alongside the older regional tradition.
Flavour Profile
Good as a low-alcohol opener before a meal. Not for someone chasing a strong or spirit-forward drink.
Glass & Garnish
Large wine glass, full of ice.

Ingredients
- Aperol3 oz
- Prosecco3 oz
- Soda water1 bar spoon

Method
- Fill a wine glass with ice.
- Add Aperol.
- Top with Prosecco, then a bar spoon of soda water.
- Stir once, garnish with orange slice.

Notes
Pour Aperol first for even mixing with one stir. 3-3-1 ratio is easy to remember and scale. Pairs well with olives or charcuterie.
