A tequila application of the classic Fizz format dating to the late 1800s New Orleans bar scene — no single credited inventor for this variant.

Flavour Profile

Good as a lighter, quicker alternative to a Paloma or Margarita. Not for someone who wants a long, sippable drink.

Ingredients

  • Tequila2 oz
  • Fresh lime juice0.75 oz
  • Simple syrup0.75 oz
  • Soda water~2 oz, to top

Method

  1. Shake tequila, lime, syrup with ice 12–15 seconds.
  2. Strain into a fizz glass, no ice.
  3. Top with soda water.
