Rum Buck

The Moscow Mule's rum-forward cousin — same ginger snap, warmer backbone.
Every recipe on Sipped Right is tested at home before it's published — not just written.
Origin
"Buck" as a cocktail family dates to the early 1900s, well before the Moscow Mule made the format famous. The rum version has no single credited inventor.
Flavour Profile
Good for someone who wants the Mule's ginger snap with more warmth underneath. Not for someone who wants vodka's neutrality.
Glass & Garnish
Highball, full of ice.

Ingredients
- Rum2 oz
- Fresh lime juice0.5 oz
- Ginger beer4 oz, to top

Method
- Add rum and lime to a glass with ice.
- Top with ginger beer.
- Stir once.
- Garnish with lime wheel.

Notes
Darker, spiced rum leans warmer; lighter rum stays closer to the Mule's profile. Pairs well with grilled food.
