Gin Flip

Gin's botanicals, given the Flip family's rich, whole-egg treatment.
Every recipe on Sipped Right is tested at home before it's published — not just written.
Origin
Same colonial-era Flip family lineage, though gin was a historically less common Flip base than whiskey or rum.
Flavour Profile
Good for gin's botanical character in a rich, dessert-like format. Not a session drink.
Glass & Garnish
Small coupe glass.

Ingredients
- Gin2 oz
- Simple syrup0.5 oz
- Egg1, whole

Method
- Add gin, syrup, egg to a shaker — no ice.
- Dry shake hard 15 seconds.
- Add ice, shake again 10 seconds.
- Double-strain into a small chilled coupe.
- Grate nutmeg on top.

Notes
Uses a whole raw egg — small salmonella risk, use pasteurized if that's a concern. Don't skip the dry shake — it builds the silky texture. Pairs well with light desserts.
