Gin
Bramble

A gin sour with a bruise-purple drizzle — as pretty as it is easy.

Origin
Created by bartender Dick Bradsell in London in the mid-1980s, inspired by his childhood memory of picking wild blackberries — a well-documented origin, since Bradsell discussed it directly before his 2016 death.
Flavour Profile
Good for someone who wants something impressive-looking with no real skill required. Tart citrus-forward with a sweet, fruity finish. Not for a purist who dislikes visibly "fruity" drinks.
Glass & Garnish
Rocks glass, crushed ice.

Ingredients
- Gin2 oz
- Fresh lemon juice0.75 oz
- Simple syrup0.5 oz
- Crème de mûre0.5 oz, to drizzle

Method
- Shake gin, lemon, syrup with ice 8–10 seconds.
- Strain over crushed ice.
- Drizzle crème de mûre on top.
- Garnish with blackberry and lemon wheel.

Notes
Don't stir after drizzling — the bleed-through is the visual point. No crème de mûre? Blackberry liqueur or loosened jam works. Pairs well with fresh berries and cheese.
